NOVEMBER IN THE OKM LIBRARY

Check out the new library entrance display for November. We are featuring books related to Remembrance Day.

You will find selections of war poetry, holocaust fiction, memoirs, and a fascinating selection of books about war and peace.

"Lest we forget."

ALSO THIS MONTH- Check out the new book displays. Thanks to the generous support of our parent advisory council, we were able to order some new popular books selected from our lists of student and teacher requests! The PAC has also provided support for a very special author visit during Education Week, coming up in March!

DROP EVERYTHING AND READ! Monday October 27th

OKM Secondary School
October 27th, 2008

Monday, October 27th, is NATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY DAY! In Canadian Library Month we celebrate the theme:
Your Library, Your World/ Votre Bibliothèque, Votre Univers.

First proclaimed in 2003, National School Library Day is part of a wide initiative by many groups aimed at raising awareness about the critical role of school libraries. Across the country, school staff will be celebrating excellence in school library programs.
At OKM the school library will be taking part in National School Library Day celebrations by joining people across British Columbia to DROP EVERYTHING AND READ for twenty minutes starting at 11:00 am. Parents and all members of the public are invited to join us for DEAR on Monday!
For more information, contact: Ms. Neilson in the OKM library.
